How to Configure Disconnected Session Timer Settings in XenApp 6.x

This article contains information on how to make disconnected sessions end immediately in XenApp 6.

Background

In XenApp 6, you cannot configure the following policies displayed in the screen shot because they only apply to XenDesktop.

Also, the minimum time you can configure in the ICA listener is one minute.

Procedure

If you want disconnected sessions to end immediately, complete the following procedure in the registry:

Caution! This procedure requires you to edit the registry. Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of the Registry Editor can be solved. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. Back up the registry before you edit it.

Open RegEdit.
Edit the following registry entry:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\ICA-TCP
Name: MaxDisconnectionTime
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 0x000003E8

This action sets the disconnected timeout to one second.
